Sorry Nancy, AKC does not encourage co ownerships.  In fact, they would
very much like to get rid of them entirely.  Co ownerships are one of
the biggest pains they have and a couple of years ago there was some
pretty serious talk about getting rid of them entirely.   However, there
are so many co owned dogs they couldn't quite figure out how to do it at
that point.  I wouldn't be surprised if  AKC phased out co ownerships at
some point.  In fact, remember when the litter registrations changed
form a few years ago so that ALL of the owners of a birtch have to
sign?  The reason that happened was the co ownership problem.
