I'm not going to argue about who he does and doesn't humiliate. We all have
different tolerance levels. But I will say that even a simple question can
result in a verbal rap on the knuckles -- I got one for asking a question
about the L pattern. People should know to expect that before paying their
money for the seminar.

The point is, though, that courtesy is a two-way street.  A good teacher
doesn't need to badger, berate, insult, or make fun of students. A good
teacher isn't there to be worshipped, and IMO if he's really good, he's there
to learn as well as teach. Personally I think the man has a lot to offer, and
we each need to accept and use what we find useful.  I do not consider Mr.
Alston a "good teacher,"  but I do think that good learners learn from his
seminars and book.
