Cathy,

Jill Scandoli and I met Debbie at some shows this fall in the St. Louis area.
We tried to talk to her about reputable breeding, testing, etc. but soon
realized all we were saying was falling on deaf ears. She was showing a year
old black and tan boy that she was quick to point out WAS available for stud
serivce (no testing of any kind). She was in the process of importing a male
and female from Ireland (I think), and has at least one other female already.
I found her in the USDA book and she also has Bulldogs.

I am finding an alarming trend among the USDA breeders in MO. Besides Debbie,
I know of a number of others who have gotten at least one AKC dog to show.
It is often put out with a handler. Two near me both have Cavaliers from the
same AKC breeder (former CKCSC), although they are USDA licensed, breed FIC
Cavaliers and other breeds, too.

All I can figure is they try to get one CH so they can advertise "CH sired"
or "CH lines." It's very sad for the breed.
