Brokers seem to be popping up like crazy. We now have one in Cleveland!
She just started advertising in the paper a couple of weeks ago. I've
talked to a few people who have been to her house and they were absolutely
horrified. The puppies were sickly, malnourished, and awful looking. But
only $850! None of the people who contacted me bought one because they were
too scared to--the puppies looked that bad. But I'm sure she will have no
trouble selling them. In fact the last person who just visited her said
they were all sold but one.

Unfortunately, now everyone is getting to know about the Cavalier and
everyone seems to want one. There are just not enough well bred Cavaliers
available. People who want one badly enough (and those who reputable
breeders won't sell to) will go elsewhere--either a broker, a pet shop, or
other. I have no answers, I just feel for those poor Cavaliers and their
new owners. I can only think of one good thing to come of this--the
majority of those poorly bred Cavaliers will probably end up being a BAD
experience for those unsuspecting people and maybe next time they will
decide the Cavalier is either too unhealthy a breed for them and look for a
different breed, or they will have learned their lesson and will look for a
well bred one.
