I don't know how many different types of progesteroone tests there are but the one my vet uses (draws blood), he sends to a lab. If he sends it in the AM we get the results back in the PM. We do the tests until the level reaches 5 and then, wait two days and breed. This gives you two days to get the semen shipped which, if the stud owner is aware of the situation and is on stand by, is plenty of time. We used to use a test that was one my vet did in his office (we called it the Target Test) but that turned out to be not as accurate as the one we send out to the lab and get an actual lab report back.
