I'm replying to this since Kim Johnson posted about a recent computer-virus
infection, and as it happens about 2 weeks ago I sent out a memo (to the
approx. 500 members of the non-profit org. for which I volunteer) re
computer viruses. Many of you undoubtedly already know this, but it's worth
repeating as a reminder: Briefly, having anti-virus software on your
computer is no protection UNLESS you update it regularly (i.e., frequently).
(Earlier this year my computer was infected with the same virus as Kim's; I
lost faith in my software until I realized I hadn't updated it in quite a
while.)  I know list-members use a variety of anti-virus software programs;
I use Norton's, but all or most of them probably have an "online-update"
capability similar to Norton's. Generally after the first year you pay an
annual fee, but it's not expensive and believe me, it's worth it. I
strongly recommend updating *at least* once a week.
And thanks, Kim, for the reminder to us all.
