Not necessarily. The Missouri Pet Breeders Association (aka puppy millers inc.)
boycotted AKC when they instituted the FUS program. Obviously the registration of
their puppies was not as important as the cheap mass production of them. They just
turned to alternate registries. You have to keep in mind that their primary goal
is the bottom dollar and the only way they make their money is by breeding. These
brokers want you to sell them a well bred pup with "champions in the pedigree",
they could care less if you tell them there is a spay/neuter contract and the pup
is being sold on limited. Bottom line is they get to buy your puppy "intact" and
then they will go and register it with APR (all breed pet registry) UKCI (united
kennel club international) WKC (world wide kennel club) CKC (continental kennel
club) etc.

Tell the buyer the pup will be altered before going home with them and then watch
how fast they run if they have a hidden agenda. Show cat breeders have been doing
early spay/neuter for a long time. I remember when I was looking for my Devon Rex,
I called everyone in the country and in Canada trying to find an odd-eyed white
male kitten. When I finally found someone who had one I told her this and the
first thing she said was, "All my pet kittens are altered before they leave." I
said good that's one less thing I have to do. Had my intention been to find a
Devon to breed I'd have gone elsewhere.
