Actually, I remember when I first found that I needed reading glasses. I was, as it
happened, 43. I went to an ophthalmologist and he said, and I quote,
"you must be in your early 40s...that's when the eyes start to go on people who read a
lot." I thought he was ridiculous...until I told a friend's father the story (he was
also an ophthalmologist...) and he said "that is correct. you girls who read all the
time usually need reading glasses by this age...if you continue to read at the rate you
do, plus use computers at work, you'll probably need bifocals by the time you're 50.
maybe even trifocals."
And Dr. Aguirre told me that it is not abnormal for dogs to start having a bit of
eye trouble after they are 6 or so......
Weird, isn't it?
