Good for you, Susan. Cavaliers are a breed where it is still possible to owner-handle successfully, some of the time, anyway. You have to pick your judges. Good luck!
Having VERY briefly showed boxers, here are two things I've noticed: boxers are often scheduled EARLY in the day, I assume because they don't need grooming. and... boxers don't need grooming, at least on the day of the show. so you get the good & the bad Boxer competition seems very fierce, and handlers fierce as well, and the pt schedule is much harder, certainly in this area.
