Don't forget to rule out a yeast infection in the moist areas under the eyes where the tears run. You cannot miss the smell-sort of sweet and cheesy. Tear staining will be greatly reduced by clearing up the infection. It must be fairly widespread as I smell it on many Cavaliers at shows.
