I have a friend who is planning her first breeding with her own male and female. She did progesterone tests on the female. She attempted natural matings to no avail. Today she brought both dogs to the vet to get the bitch artificially inseminated as today was the last day of the bitch's fertile period per the progesterone tests. When they got the sample from the male it was all blood. They put it under the microscope and there was no sperm in the sample. They sent it off to the lab to be checked for culture sensitivity, cytology among other tests. The vet is starting the male on Baytril. Has anyone had any experience like this? I told my friend I would ask the list as she is beside herself. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
