Hi Myra and all I am finding this thread very interesting :-) I must admit that I have always done natural matings, except with an old chap of mine who hurt his back at 11 yo and after that couldn't "manage" the tie :-). I do insist on visiting bitches being swabbed first, and treated etc if necessary. Just curious, if it is the male you are trying to protect, and I fully agree with that :-) why not give him antibiotics when he is doing matings? I haven't done this, but do know people here in Oz who do.........
