I personnally use Odo-Ban, sold at Sam's Superstore for any kind of accident. It is cheap (10 $ for a gallon or more, that can be diluted up to 64 times -- if I recall properly). I also use this in my Bissell Green Machine when I need to clean the carpet in case of an accident or a dog being sick on the carpet.
My daughter uses the same stuff to disinfect her cages, etc. in her grooming shop. It leaves a nice and pleasant odor...
