Hi Amanda -

Unfortunately it is probably allergies of some sort. One of our girls
developed similar symptoms a few months after we moved from Tennessee to
Florida, which tells me it was triggered by something in the environment
rather than by food. We added fatty acids (Derm Caps) to her food and got
some improvement. Next I added 400 IU of vitamin E and got more
improvement. Now we have changed her feed to Avo-derm and I am hoping that
this may solve the problem - it is too soon to tell.

My understanding of allergies is that there can be a sort of cascade effect
- the body can cope with one allergen, add another and there may be some
reaction, add a third and obvious problems develop. We cannot move
(elderly parents here) so I am trying nutritional support and dietary
changes. Brie had a gorgeous coat until this started - now it is slowly
coming back and she is a much happer little girl as she is rarely itchy
anymore.
