I agree, if a dog has a weight problem, reduce intake and do not change to a "diet"
dog food. In my experience, one of the worst things you can do is put an overweight
dog on low cal and a senior dog on senior food. I am only referring to normal healthy
dogs, not dogs on special diets due to illness. I have fed Canidae since it came out
and been pretty happy with it. I add whatever meats fruits and veggies I have to
include natural foods. My favorite oil is Olive Oil. I use the light-less strong
flavor for dogs. Olive Oil is a wonderful oil for good coats. My 2 1/2 year old
Cavalier probably gets a tsp. per day.
