Hi List

Hi list

The tricolour bitch puppy who developed a blue eye the day
after her first vaccination with lepto and DHPPI was 13
weeks old yesterday. One eye went very blue, but cleared
quickly, the other went slightly blue and also cleared fast.

However, she subsequently developed cystitis to the extent
that she was losing bloody tissue. That also cleared up
quite quickly after seven days of Synulox. But she then
started to throw up and eventually wouldn't even keep
fluid down. So Saturday afternoon to the vet, who said
she could feel a foreign body. On a drip to stabilise her,
surgery Sunday morning during the course of which they rang
to say that the lump they felt was in fact an inflamed
pancreas, her stomach was full of pus and the majority of
her internal organs were coated like a constipated tongue.
Vet says this is bacterial pancreatitis ... defeats me.
Does anyone have any experience of anything like this?

I expect I should have said to let her go, and she's
certainly a very poorly puppy, but this morning she stood
up and wagged her tail - although not at me when I went
in to see her. But she was better this morning than she
was last night, warmer, cleaner eyes, colder nose, so keep
your fingers crossed.

I admit without any embarrassment at all that I've crossposted
this to other lists in the hope that someone might know
something about it.

Best
