You can't believe how I have worried over this problem. But how little can
you feed before being overcome with guilt? Charlie was not purchased to be
show quality so I have no complaints that he got too big. He weighs 32
pounds, down from 37 a year ago. For his size, which would be way too big
for the standard, he should probably way about 27 pounds according to my vet.
He is 3 years old, no heart murmurs and in excellent health, other than
being overweight. He is now on 1 1/2 cups of reduced calorie California
Natural. He loses maybe 1/2 pound per month. His treats consist of nothing
but raw carrots and raw green beans. He always seems hungry. He is the joy
of my life and I hate thinking that he is always hungry. I want your advise.
I have toyed with the idea of an all natural high protein diet but my vet is
avidly against it and I really don't have any idea what is enough or too
much, or what supplements are required. Thanks any suggestions.
