Thanks Carol, I am going to do some calling around tomorrow and compare.

He should be worried about you getting mad at *him*! I would switch vets.
It made me mad that my last vet charged $2 per prescription. It's amazing
how much money you can save. I know I save hundreds each year. My new vet
just automatically writes the prescriptions without even offering to fill
them there.

Enalapril is $40 some dollars at Wal-Mart and K-Mart for 100 10 mg.
tablets. I split these in half with a pill splitter. Interceptor is
*much* cheaper by mail. While Frontline is not a prescription, it is also
cheaper by mail, as is Glyco-Flex and various supplements. Dinah has been
on lots of various drugs lately, and all of them have been by prescription.
My vet would often tell me that she had looked up their cost, and I should
just have it filled. She even calls it in for me. The only drug I
purchase from the vet regularly is Lasix. I used to mail order it, but
prefer the name brand that I can get inexpensively from the vet.
