Benchmark Star Bright ("Wish") for their Best-Puppy-In-Sweeps award tonight
in Columbus, Ohio. "Wish" is a 15-month-old blenheim girl sired by Ch
Pinecrest Grand Slam out of Ch Benchmark Bunny Hop. Best Puppy Dog was
Brookhaven Dream Lover (Ch B Fairmont x B Savannah) a 10-month-old blenheim,
bred and owned by Paula Ayers and Brenda Martz. The judge was Mandy
Mulligan, Nightingale Cavaliers, USA. Tomorrow's judge is Mrs. Lorraine
Hughes, Loranka Cavaliers, UK, and Sunday's is Mrs. Gladys Baillie, Fymrose
Cavaliers, Scotland. Childrens' Handling Judges will be Nanette Wright and
Kathy Conrad.
Brenda Hauser (Cavaliers of the Midwest) and Brenda Gear (Cavaliers of the
Northeast) are doing a great job with the show. The hotel is big, new, and
gorgeous, and the show is held in a spacious carpeted ballroom. There were
great hors d'oeuvres prior to the show and a great buffet afterwards --
lobster bisque, chicken divan, etc.
The catalog lists over 160 dog entries; there were about 46 in puppy sweeps.
I can't promise to post all the weekend results, as I will miss parts of the
shows due to my childrens' activities, so anyone else should feel free to
step in and post results.
