Sandra,

They do that in the school systems here. I think what they use is "flat
Sammy." :o) Each child gets Flat Sammy for a couple of weeks and takes
him places and takes pictures. They can also send him with a friend who is
going somewhere to take pictures. When my nephew had him, Sammy went to
Austria. They keep a journal of everywhere they take him--doesn't have to
be exciting places. By the end of the school year, each student in the
class has had him at one time. My neighbor sent him to New York with some
friends, and he was on the Today Show in the crowd.

I guess I'm not quite as trusting as you. I don't think you would get him
back from a total stranger--wouldn't matter a lot since he was a Beanie
Baby, but I think a good idea might be for you to take him to Disney World
and take pictures of Regal with you and your family, then mail him to a
list member who would take pictures of him with their family, and so on
with our list members. Maybe he could go to a Show and have his picture
made with several list members.

Finally, a web page could be made with all the pictures. Since we have
list members in Europe, Australia, Canada, and the U.S. (maybe other
countries as well), he could be quite well-travelled. Didn't mean to
totally change your idea, and of course, this is *your* idea. I guess the
cynic in me just wouldn't expect a stranger to be as enthralled with this
idea as we might like.
