I am planning to travel from Cincinnati to Atlanta in April
with my little

8 month old bitch, Dixie. What do you all consider "essentials"
when

traveling,,,, other than the dog that is?

This probably isn't exactly what you're asking, but when travelling (or
even just driving around town) I consider it important for the dog to be
in a crate, with the crate strapped in to a seat belt, in the back seat (because
of air bag in front seat). Also, I think it's important for the dog to
have her collar with identification on at all times. This would be a good
time to get a microchip, too, in case she doesn't already have one.

Another thing would be plastic bags to pick up doggy poop and extra
towels in the car in case she gets sick.
