Terri I cannot help but respond to your post. I am offended at your lumping 'importers' with puppy mills and Back Yard Breeders! Puppy Millers are 'business people' who apparently care little or nothing for the breeds they are 'milking' for their income - and are a blight on society as far as I can tell - The Back Yard Breeders MAY be novices trying to learn - or may be small time puppy mills - but deserve the courtesy of not being tarred with the same brush - but rather given the credit of the doubt - The importers!?!?!? WHY are importers lumped in this group???? I personally have imported a dog recently - because I was unable to find any breeder in the US that would even TALK to me about selling me a dog! I have owned, bred, shown, boarded dogs for over 35 years - I own my own home, have a fenced in yard, and wanted a Cavalier to show, to breed, to 'learn the breed' with -- I visited 6 different breeders + corresponded with others over the internet - and only ONE was willing to consider helping me - if / when they bred the next time - which would be a year from when we first started talking - So, I am now being lumped in the same category with a Puppy Mill?!?!? Thanks for the 'welcome into the breed'!
