Annette, Sorry it took a while for me to reply...life gets in the way of my fun!~ This was based on the Year of the heart symposium held in Atlanta in May of 1998. We had international cardiologists there who had been studying MVD for many years and they shared their findings and recommendations for breeding based on their studies. Dr. Andrew Beardow, Dr. James Buchanan, Dr. Virginia Fuentes, Dr. Bruce Keane, and genetic consultant, Lennart Swenson were the guest speakers. From this international symposium on cavalier heart disease is where I got the breeding suggestions. I hope this is helpful.
