Carolyn...Deffinbachia is a house plant that comes in a variety of shades of green and is sometimes reddish or variegated. Another plant that can cause these same symptoms is the large philodendron (perhaps the small one too). I have had them in my yard but only one dog ever tasted it and almost immediately began to stagger around.
