Ah ha! Now I know where Keno's compulsion to "talk" to any man or beast
that catches his attention at the park or on the street, to the ceiling fan
that he suddenly noticed turning, to the dogs down the street that are
barking, to the spider crawling up the wall . . .

If he can't bark, then he yips. If he can't yip, then he whines.
Fortunately, I am not amused by these shennanigins and he knows "Sssssh."
Nicer than "shut up" or "quiet". More original than "no bark." He's very
responsive to my requests to control himself. But it's sooooo hard! He
tries though. And he's soooo cute. The funniest was a couple of weeks ago
at night he suddenly woke up, starting barking his head off, jumped off the
bed, ran through the house barking. Neither Windy nor I ever did figure out
what he was barking at. A bad dream?

Sunday he starts his first private obedience for competition lesson. I had
entered him in a "fun and games" obedience class starting 3/30. The
instructor is in my obedience club. Tues nite we were talking and when she
found out I wanted to competition train him, she told me to start private
lessons with Moira, who also has classes. Windy is in her competition work
class Tues nites. She's a good trainer and I'm looking forward to working
with her more. Also he starts agility on 3/14. So maybe with all this
activity he'll be too tired to bark?

Apple Valley has, if I remember correctly from Bradshaw's web page, 6 dogs
and 8 or 9 bitches on Saturday, 2 dog specials. I think he got Keno's entry
as there are only 4 dogs on Sunday. I entered only Sat. And I thought it
would be a small entry since it's sort of out of the way.

How was No. Cal? Is no news bad news?

Susan
