I am VERY lucky as a friend started a pet sitting business here in the Dallas area about 11 years ago. We started in obedience classes and met thru the dogs 14 years ago. She has about 25 sitters that work for her - and every one I have used has been wonderful. They do stay in my house while I am gone - and like me, most have full time jobs so are there in evenings and in and out on weekends (unless yearbook season!!) It has been a great resource that is for sure. Cost is not cheap to use someone reputable and that you trust - depending on number of dogs I have at home it is about $65 to $75 a day.
