Thanks to everyone for your responses both private and list. The problem started shortly after we switched from back to basics to best in show food so we will most likely be switching back. We made the switch to get a lower fat content but based on many suggestions we are leaning towards a slightly less volume of the kibble supplimented with fresh vegetables.
