Pam, I am no expert, by any means; but I remember we had to have the anal
glands surgically removed from our first cocker and she lived to be 18 1/2
years old, 12 years without those glands. She had just a problem with them,
we were taking her every month to the vet to have them expressed and the
smell was rather sickening; but rather than go through this month after
month, we had them surgically done and she was fine after that--absolutely
no problems. Good luck and I will be interested to hear other's advice on
this situation. Gayle Draus at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
