I have not heard these comments, myself, but I have had several prospective purchasers who have said that they were told that they should only buy from USA club members. It was OK if the seller was a member of both clubs.
I am not a member of the USA club because some of my dogs could not be registered with them since their parents were bred by people who were "out of favor." I am, however, a member of the AKC club and like to consider myself a responsible breeder.
