I can't >say I'm keen to try >it, just an enquiry ... This method is described in Wendy Volhard's "Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog." It is called Dr. Parcell's System of Cleansing Food. The theory is that the bleach "acts like a magnet to toxins and pulls them out of the produce." Veggies, fruits, meats and eggs should be soaked separately. Use 1/2 tsp Clorox to 1 gal. water. Fruits and veggies are soaked for 10 minutes, drain. Fill up the sink again and soak them in fresh water for 10 minutes, Drain, dry and store. Eggs are soaked for 30 minutes. Meat can be placed in a colander and soaked 10-15 minutes, then rinsed as above. Also, Grapefruit seed extract can be used in place of clorox, which is what I use.
