Hi Kathy, BVA breaks each hip down into, I think, nine components and each component is scored. The sire and dam of a proposed breeding could both have good hips, but when the score sheets are compared, both could have high scores in the same area/s (the lower the score the better) so the breeding would be doubling up on that weakness. I think the film has to be taken with general anaesthesia and of course sent to UK.
