I've seen quite a few hip xrays as well....both in cavaliers and German Shepherds. There have been xrays in both breeds where I couldn't determine myself what the results from OFA would be, but it never was between a good and a fail. It has always been exactly how shallow that joint has to be before OFA will issue a fail versus a fair. It is always the ones that are very border line that make me glad that three vets have looked and stated their opinion. A good hip joint really does look just wonderful....and a dysplastic hip looks awful. The fairs sometimes make me hold my breath until the results come back (well not really) but I would have to question the skill level of someone who couldn't tell a good from a fail. Myra
