We had the best trip around the west coast of Ireland. We also rented a cottage for one week in Killarney. The cottage was over 100 years old, with quaint 'short' doors, with hand made hinges and knobs. We loved it. The cost of the cottage for the week [self catering - we had a lovely little kitchen] is as much as a nice hotel would've cost us in a big city. Of course the furniture was older, the peat fire a bit stinky [but in a fun kind of way]...but we loved it just the same. We will return in the next couple years because we just didn't get enough. The Dingle Peninsula, and Slea Head were extra special favorites for us.
