Hi, Liz,
        I have had excellent results with mediation even in the most
intractable issues.  It differs from arbitration in that it is not
binding (until agreed upon) and so frees the parties to use their
imaginations to see how agreement can benefit each of them.

Many judges who no longer sit on the bench practice mediation to good
effect.  I wish it to us all.
