Hi all, I have read thru endless posts today regarding the AKC/CKCSC issue and I think that it is time to give it a break. I have had numerous people email me asking me to step and ask for the discussion to come to an end for now and I have to agree.
As your list owner, I am asking that we change the subject for now. I think that this has been churned and discussed as much as it can possibly be done. Because it seems as though a small handful of people are the only ones that post, I am going to go back to guideline that Cindy had instituted quite some time ago. I am going to request that no person posts more than 15 posts in one day. I think that some of our list members get overwhelmed by the personalities on our list and are intimidated. Suze posted that this list is comprised of mostly breeders and few pet owners. That is untrue. This list consists of over 600 members and maybe only 20 people are consistent posters. Many of our list members are pet owners that are hoping to learn about this breed. What they are learning is that "this breed" is not a fun place to be most of the time. There is so much animosity and discourse here in the states about politics concerning this breed. It is a shame. Given the argumentivie atmosphere over the last few days, it is no wonder that the rift between the clubs is so large. Everyone wants to prove that their opinion is the correct one. It is my ferverent hope that somehow the 2 clubs can come to some kind of a goodwill understanding. (Michael, your idea is a breath of fresh air) Both clubs offer something valuable. Jeanne was correct in her description of the place that AKC fills. It is nice to be able to go to a show and be back home before noon (unless you are like me and live in the boonies). I envy my friends that can show every weekend and still be a participating part of their family on the weekends. CKCSC also offers much....most shows offer health clinics, seminars, banquets and fun social events. Yes, they are more expensive to attend than the local AKC shows....but some people prefer that and that is ok....that is their preference and that is ok. Both venues are valuable..........but.......if we can not discuss this issue here on this list without assalting our list members with 150 posts day after day on the same subject then I think that like Cindy, I am going to request that each member on this list, limit their posts to no more than 15 a day. It is a drag for me to have to sit and count.....but it is just too much for most of our list members to have to weed thru every day. Have a good weekend, Kind regards, Kim CKCS-L Admin ========================================================= "Magic Commands": to stop receiving mail for awhile, click here and send the email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20NOMAIL to start it up gain click here: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?body=SET%20CKCS-L%20MAIL E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] for assistance.
