There was an article in yesterday's Sunday Express (UK paper) about a dog
said to have been cured of senile dementia - I seem to remember some posts
from people with dogs having 'senior moments' so thought this may be of
interest.

THE FIRST DOG IN THE UK TO BE CURED OF SENILE DEMENTIA THANKS TO A
REVOLUTIONARY NEW TREATMENT.
After golden retriever Toby suffered a stroke and developed dementia his
distraught owners thought he'd never recover. But after the new treatment
launched only six weeks ago Toby has been given a new lease of life.
Seventy five percent of dogs develop a canine form of Alzheimer's after the
age of seven, which slows their brain and brings on dementia. Toby was worse
off than most after suffering a stroke a year ago that caused his head to
tilt.
But after only a week on the special anti-oxidant food his head tilt has
disappeared and his aging symptoms have been reversed.
Owner Samantha Arora said "we cannot believe the change in Toby - its like
he's two years old again. Six weeks ago he was limping around as if he was
on his last legs. He couldn't even remember where his bed was and holding up
his paw for a biscuit was a thing of the past. Now, she said, he's bounding
around like a puppy.
Six hundred clinics across the UK are now prescribing the treatment whose
anti oxidant ingredients are taken from spinach, broccoli, tomato, citrus
and tuna to provide intensive nourishment for the brain.
A four-year study by Professor Bill Milgram at the university of Toronto on
behalf of UK pet suppliers Hills Nutrition has shown a 60% increase in
learning ability in the brains of dogs who have been treated for six months.

I'm not recommending this - just thought it may be of interest. Its probably
been available in US for some time but its not something I'd heard of.
