About the letter. Exactly to whom is it to be sent? You need to identify your
audience before writing anything that will get someone's attention. Wasn't
the idea to form a committee to do this? Sure a committee will take a day or
two to form but it at least will have a base and structure to work with. I
don't want to be a wet blanket but you need to look before you leap into
something this big.

For instance we need a title or name for this event to keep the purpose for
having it in front of us-to keep us on the proper track. Cavalier Connection?
Cavalier E-list Picnic? If we don't do this right we may forever screw things
up that could have been fixed.

That said, I propose we take out any reference to the old issues and keep it
light and happy by saying our purpose is only to enjoy being with our dogs
and other Cavalier lovers. Period. Mentioning the old issues and a friendly
atmosphere makes me feel uneasy and question whether I would want to go with
that lurking in the back of minds. Kinda like when someone asks you to trust
you. Instantly you don't.

Lastly I can't imagine many people signing up to attend or support something
with no date or place tentatively at least mentioned. Let's put the horse
back in front of the cart. Let's nominate a committee to get this rolling in
the right direction. First they need to at least tentatively choose a
realistic date then a place or perhaps if it is a great place like St. Louis
we need to work backwards and see when we can use their facilities and work
from there. Then the committee can see what support they have via a letter.
Just my opinion.
