I have interviewed people like this several times in the past 32 years.
they want the dog NOW. 25% of them will buy it, bring it to the vets' for
hundreds of dollars in "fix-up" bills, and STILL buy the dog in the first
place because they want it NOW. It isn't MY head that's been bloodied, it's
THEIRS because they wouldn't listen.

Anyone who asks me about puppies gets my questionnaire and must fill it out
and return it. Period. I don't even quote prices anymore unless it's a
telephone call and we've had more of a conversation than "how much do they
cost?" Then I either refer them elsewhere with copies of the questionnaire
sent to the referrals. Several things I can tell from the questionnaire
response, not the least of which is if their attitude towards animal
ownership in general is ethical.

And yes, occasionally I do work out "time payments" with some of my puppy
customers. The terms for these are: after the puppy/dog is paid for IN
FULL, the puppy can go to its new home. Nothing transfers until the terms of
the sale are complete.
