Hi Barb -

I found the statement under "Degenerative Heart Disease" regarding  60% of
all dogs being affected (with valvular deterioration) but not the one you
mention about clinical signs of heart disease in 60% of dogs over 5 years.

By the way - this is a wonderful practice.  There are two cardiologists
there, plus a cardio intern - super staff, very easy to work with.  When we
moved to Florida in June of 2000 this was the only cardio practice
available in the entire state (no board cert cardio at the vet school!).
The first time I went to the office, another breeder went with me so we
booked apointments for 9 Cavaliers.  The day before the apointments, one of
the staff called to find out how large the Cavaliers were - it seems they
had a very small waiting area and were afraid that there would not be room
for all of the dogs if they were a large breed!  LOL
