It is also of interest to note that although the abstract states that in a
swedish study, the sires and dams were selected for the study  on the "basis
of their liability to develop CVD", still only 45% of the offspring produced
had S/S CVD at five years of age.  This is quite a significantly different
statement than what we have previously heard; that all cavaliers over 5 have
MVD.  Now, I am left wondering exactly what the statement:  'Basis of their
liability to develop CVD'  means.  It makes you wonder what percentage of
offspring would show S/S of the disease is the study group was chosen on the
basis of their 'decreased' liability to develop CVD.  Myra Savant
