Sue - I've recommended this before, but I feel it's worth repeating. Get the gallon size of Citrus Cleaner from Home Depot and mix it up in a pump-type garden sprayer. Spray all around your yard and outdoor kenneling area every 10 days for a month. you'll rid the area of fleas and ticks and it's safe. If anyone remembers their high school (?) biology classes, insects 'breathe' through their thorax and you're killing them by cutting off their air supply. If there are any fleas on the dog, give the dog a bath and it will kill the fleas. Same with ticks, only when I find ticks on the dogs, I remove them and put them in a bottle of alcohol.
