Alert-New Disease affecting the dog show circuit- Called DSD- this insidious malady mainly affects the area of the cerebellum controlling the ego. Hallucinations and Visions of Grandeur are likely to be displayed. Occasionally slip of the tongue and diarrhoea of the mouth can be a problem. Patients fail to keep their mouths shut, sometimes leading to violent repercussions.Some patients have been seen walking with their noses in an upright position preceding the eventual stepping on others toes.
In the later stages the Visions of Grandeur can actually develop into full blown egomania, with resulting enlarged cranium. One may actually hear them participating in delusional rantings with deceptive intonations. Kennel Blindness and a trend to know-it-all are end stage indicators. There is no cure for this perfidious disease. This infection is contagious and is now in epidemic proportions. It can appear at any stage however it usually manifests itself slowly in a newly infected person as it winds its evil path straight to the ego. You must avoid contaminated individuals, do not share rooms or grooming space. Patients may be able to mask symptoms.
