I personally am thrilled with litters of 3, my best litter was 3 (the 2 boys
became HIS Top Producers). This is small enough for you to really give them
the personal care and attention for them to be their best, mentally and
physically, and 3 is a lot more economical to show than 6! Only one or two
is disappointing as one always wonders if there was another, it might have
been better (dog people being incorrigible optimists!). It all depends on
one's goals...when time and space is limited, and one lives in an area where
one is limited to having 3 dogs over the age of 12 weeks, one does not hope
for large litters! VBG.
