Hi Phyllis and List, When my Amy, who is 4 1/2 years old, was 10 months old I had a litter of Bouvier puppies. She was fascinated with them. They were 6 weeks old and I let them all play together in the yard. Big mistake! Amy let them nurse and within 24 hours she had full milk. My vet laughed when I called in a panic and said that it showed Amy would be a good mother (which she is). Of course he told me to keep her away and she would dry back up which she did. She never lost coat and her hormones seemed fine. She has always had good milk production and is an ideal mother. Hopefully Nellie will be just fine. I have never had that happen before but then nothing surprises me with these guys..:) Thinking of you and Nellie....Nancy
