The FIC breeder can be seen at www.CavalierPuppy.com . In most cases I don't think they are defending the breeder at all. I think they just plain don't get it--and most of the ones who don't get it by now, may never get it. They actually do not understand how a balanced, typey, well constructed (in other words well bred) puppy is less likely to develop structural defects. They don't understand that the dumpy, sway backed mom is more likely to be *soft* in muscle development and possibly structurally defective as well and be more inclined to produce puppies with structural defects. To them the sway backed mom is a pet, not a show dog due to the sway back, and therefore the perfect dog to produce more *pets* for future pet owners. They don't understand how the very shy mom is more likely to produce fear biters. They are certain temperament is nothing but an environmental issue and they will have complete control over whether their puppy will end up the same way as mom or not.
They just don't get it.
