Hi All -- Just got my computer "back" and need to send this warning out to
all of you. The nasty Klez virus (really a worm) infected my computer on
Sunday night. It came through an attachment I downloaded, or possibly from a
link that I clicked on to see some neat Cavalier photographs. It came from
someone on either this list or the Hoflin list. First -- I'm not blaming
anyone. Second -- Update your Norton AntiVirus now. Our computer was
supposed to be protected by McAfeeVirus Protection which did not detect this
worm. We borrowed the Norton AntiVirus program from my office and this
program, which was only 3 months old, also did not detect it until we updated
it on the office computer and then brought it home to do an emergency
installation. The worm kicks out the Norton when you try to download it
normally.
Please check your virus protection. And you can be assured that for a
while at least I won't be looking at any attachments or links -- even from my
kids!
Now I only have a few hundred emails to go through.
