I tried the turkey weiner trick. I chop up a turkey weiner into small bites, nuke it for a minute in the microwave, and then play "go get it" with my picky one. He's a young puppy that I bought and I had to change his food which he wasn't very happy about.
"Go get it" is a game where I sit in my chair on the screened porch and toss a turkey tidbit down the room. He runs and scoffs up the treat, then dashes back to me in anticipation of the next toss. It gives him exercise and he works up an appetite for his dry food. I have found that he'll eat the dry food when I pop him into his crate later. Sometimes, I handfeed him chopped boiled egg (he prefers the yolks, but will eat the whites from my hand as well). William says that I have spoiled him and I suspose he's right. Oh well, that's what they're for-- isn't it?
