The AKC will send you the kits for free. If you pay for the testing at that time, it is $35.00 per test. If you wait and send in payment with the kits, it is $40.00 a test. It is easy to do the test. The kit has a little Swab with bristles. You just rub the inside of the cheek of the dog and put the swab in the envelope, sign it and send it in. Right now, it is only required on a stud dog used more than three times in one year, or seven times in a lifetime, but they will do the DNA profile on any dog for you. It isn't doing anything at this point but the DNA profile itself. They aren't using it to test for anything. Myra
