Hi all, I've been working with my girl with the clicker and the liver bait and she is having a great time and learning in leaps and bounds! One of the tips I received from one of my conformation class instructors has proved to be invaluable. My instructor had asked if I was familiar with "Happy Legs" and I said I was (web site: http://www.happylegs.com/ ). He said I could use a couple of bricks, rather than the Happy Legs, to make my girl understand that she needs to keep her feet still and hold the stand when I stack her on the table. This has worked really well for me and is so much cheaper than buying the Happy Legs. <VBG> With just a few, very short sessions, I am able to set her up on the bricks and she will stand steady for a physical exam and stays when I move around and in front of her. And I'm using the liver bait to keep her ears up and tail wagging. What is everyone else doing to train their upcoming exhibits?
