hi jan and everyone else, please dont condemn cheryl for what she has written. it was not her intention to sound as if she didnt care about the dogs welfare. so many times things dont read in the same tone, or come out the same way as when people are speaking face to face. i believe that what she meant when she wrote that is that there are people in this world that are very frivolous with their money when buying material things but when it comes to buying a dog, they feel that the price of a puppy is up for debate with the breeder. so many times i hear people saying why should they spend so much money for a purebred dog when they could go to the pound and adopt one for sixty bucks! a case of apples and oranges. as for selling to someone just because they have the money to buy it, that was not how i read what cheryl had written. sometimes you have to read between the lines <G> i think what she was really saying was that when breeders get calls from someone who thinks that cavaliers sell for $500, and thats all they are looking to spend on a dog, that maybe they should rethink what breed of dog they may want. i know that i have had numerous calls like that and the person looking to buy has actually said that they didnt realize they were so expensive and that maybe they would reconsider and look for another breed. maybe the "stay at home mom" was a poor choice of words but it should not be taken figuratively. now my question is, am i the only one who read her post this way? i think we are all too quick to jump on someone before really reading what was written and taking the time to realize that sometimes when we reply to a post our fingers are working a little faster than our brains. claudia
